Condoling the demise of ‘Ananda Vikatan’ group of publications chairman S.Balasubramanian, DMK President Kalaingar in his condolence message on Dec 20 said that apart from political differences Balasubramainan was personally attached and affectionate towards him. In his message, Kalaignar regretted the demise of Anada Vikatan Balasubramanian whom he affectionately called as ‘Balu’. His father late S.S.Vasan found place along with him in the committee for Kalaivaanar statue unveiling function in Chennai and about the participation of Arignar Anna in spite of his ill health noted ‘Only now the good time for unveiling the statue of Kalaivaanar has dawned’ about the DMK coming to power.
Similarly Balu invited him for a Kaviarangam conducted by Ananda Vikatan and when he was arrested during ADMK regime for the publication of a cartoon, he issued a statement for his immediate release.
He came to his residence and invited him for the wedding reception in his family and his participation in it without fail were unforgettable incidents. He conveyed his deep condolences to the bereaved son B.Srinivasan, daughters, family members and those serving in Vikatan group.
