DMK President Kalaignar on Aug 3 congratulated Dipika Pallikal and Joshna Chinnappa on bagging gold medals in the Squash Women’s Doubles event at the just concluded Commonwealth Games 2014.
In his congratulatory message Kalaignar noted that India bagged many medals on the penultimate day of the 20th Commonwealth Games held at Glasgow in Scotland in which the pair Dipika and Joshna of Tamil Nadu had made a feat by winning the gold medal.
Dipika Pallikal and Joshna Chinappa created history by winning the first-ever gold medal in squash as they beat Jenny Duncalf and Laura Massaro of England 11-6, 11-8 in the women’s doubles squash final on the 10th day of competitions in this edition, which gave us all immense happiness. “I convey greetings to both of them”, he said.
