“Transparent interaction with DMK cadre up to grass root level for party’s growth”

DMK Treasurer Thalapathi M.K.Stalin said that he had been holding transparent interaction with party cadre up to grass root level for taking party on further development growth mode and they were sharing their views with him affectionately in all seriousness.
Stalin was holding interaction with cadre of Kanyakumari district in groups from the morning to the evening on August 12 at Udupi International Hotel in Nagercoil and at the end of that exercise he addressed the meeting of all general members of the party in the district.
As he started after completing the exercise media reporters surrounded him for an interview. Asked about the exercise he has undertaken, Stalin said that the interaction is being conducted with functionaries at branch, union, town and district levels and with those finding place in booth committees and cadre of all wings of the party.
They shared their views and opinions on the situation in their constituencies, reasons for the defeat of the party in the Lok Sabha elections and on the ways to take the party on the path of development and growth. He said he was carrying out this review work on the directive of the party headquarters.
When a reporter said that it was being reported that those in higher ups were directly nominating people close to him in all positions from the units, Stalin said the only party in India in which true democracy existed is the DMK and elections are conducted properly for every post in the post by announcing elections and dates for filing of nominations etc., Elections are conducted in DMK for not only for the positions in union, town and district levels but also for all posts such as President, General Secretary and Treasurer.
When the reporters pointed out that the DMK members were not at all allowed to speak in the Assembly, Stalin said democracy was totally denied in the Assembly and they had made more than a hundred announcements under rule 110 of which not even one was implemented. He had demanded a whitepaper on works so far undertaken for the execution of 110 announcements and hence he termed those 110 announcements as ‘420’ (cheating).
He refused to join with the speculation of secret pact between the BJP and Jayalalitha following the election of ADMK’s Thambidurai as Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha proposed by the ruling party at the Centre.
Earlier Stalin visited the residence of Rajakkamangalam union DMK secretary Sarguan Kannan to pay floral tributes to the portrait on his mother Saraswathi Ammal who expired recently and the residence of former organiser of State volunteer wing T.C.Mahesh to pay floral tribute to the portrait of his father Thavasimuth Nadar, who expired recently. He was accompanied by district secretary N. Sureshrajan, former MP Austin and other functionaries.
