Will Jayalalitha implement HC order? Asks Thalapathi M.K.Stalin

Referring to the Madras High Court order on the day for the State government to consider creating posts in the name of Makkal Nala Paniyalargal or in any other name to sensitise the people to the evils of liquor consumption or accommodate in vacancies in government schools, panchayats, municipalities, corporations, village/taluk/collector offices, undertakings of the Government of Tamil Nadu or in any post as may be created for implementing new schemes, DMK Treasurer Thalapathi M.K.Stalin asked whether Chief Minister Jayalalitha would implement the court order.
Stalin was speaking at the conference of the youth wing of the Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party and TN Construction Workers Central Union on Aug 19 at Villupuam.
Stalin said the party’s youth wing was much closer to his heart than Deputy Chief Minister and DMK Treasurer posts. Even at 61 he was leading the Youth wing. Though there are many wings in the DMK, the youth wing was most important of all.
He said on his way to Villupuram he received an information that the Madras High Court has ordered for reinstating Makkal Nala Paniyalarkal. In 1989 during the DMK rule 13,500 Makkal Nala Paniyalargal were appointed on the basis of qualification. But on coming to power in 1991, Jayalalitha sacked them.
Returning to power in 1996, the DMK again reinstated them only to be retrenched again by Jayalalitha in 2001 as soon as she assumed office. Once again the DMK government in 2006 reappointed them and as usual Jayalalitha removed them in 2011. Thus whenever she came to power she retrenched those workers. The workers filed petitions protesting against the order of the ADMK regime four times in Madras High Court and twice in the Supreme Court. The Courts ordered the regime to reappoint the workers but Jayalalitha did not implement it. again they moved the High Court which has now ordered them to be reappointed on or before October 30 failing which they have to be paid monthly salaries.
But the question is whether Jayalalitha would honour the court order and implement it or once again go on appeal to the Supreme Court. Due to her vindictive attitude thousands of these workers and their families have lost their means of livelihood, he said.
The President of the Peasants and Workers party Pon. Kumar, former Minister K.Ponmudi and others participated.
