Asserting that the DMK is capable of rooting out poisonous weeds, Thalaivar Kalaignar said that the dream of those who want to bring down the movement will never turn true.
He was addressing a massive public meeting at Mylapore Mangollai on Jan 12 arranged by West Chennai district DMK to explain the resolutions of the General Council.
Stating that the meeting has been arranged for criticizing the Central State governments and to share various programmes of the party for facing new developments and to remind the history of this movement, Kalaignar said the DMK is not one among the ‘wall poster’ parties and not one running the organization by giving advertisements to dailies. If the DMK is the lifeline of Tamils who have gathered it is a chest of Dravidian consciousness and a rationalist army teaching lesson to a hostile gang. There is a gang in Tamil Nadu which is hostile to the presence of DMK and wanted to end it, he said adding he need not elaborate whether it is benefaction or a sign of bad omen.
Started as ‘South Indian Liberal Federation’, this movement created awakening needed for the dawn of people of Tamil Nadu, unbothered about victory and defeat and developed by sacrifices. We are conducting this movement for the progress of people and the race. “As far as I am concerned I have live for 90 years and participated in all conditions of growth. Downfall, slackening and continuity of the movement and will also participate in future. The support you are extending to me and Perasiryar is not for individuals but for the cause, our party and our unity. We have so fat brought down enemies who ruled over Dravidians and Tamils and taught a lesson to them. Hence a gang is determinedly striving to damage and destroy us. It should not be forgotten that means of publicity and media are in the stranglehold of some in this gang and hence are enemies to us till date”, Kalaignar said.
“If so many of you have gathered here it is because the DMK is the camp which trains us for developing consciousness of race and for the prosperity of the country. Even as we develop the movement we are surmounting troubles and oppositions about which the earlier speakers dealt in detail and how to tackle them and discharge our duties and responsibilities. In such a movement there will be some defeats and drawbacks here and there, which we have discarded and continue to march ahead in victorious path”.
“We can observe some elements, utilizing such defeats try to somehow bring our downfall but only those who want to bring us down will fall down and those who want to destroy us will get destroyed. This massive crow here will be reported in some of the dailies as ‘poor turnout in Karunanidhi’s meeting’. We should not bother about such reports, if people have not turned up, in their language, we should take it as ‘Devars’ attended the meeting”, Kalaignar said sarcastically adding that their motive is to help the growth of the gang which they wished to grow.
“Our comrades wonder why they are lying like this and make innuendos and whether there is no remedy at all. Some of them openly ask and some suggestive. I will tell them, be patient and bear with it. We are categorically stating that we as well as the people do not believe and should not believe all those lies. It will definitely bear fruit which we will witness soon”.
“The assembling of so many of you in two days’ notice is the proof for the fact that nobody could shake this movement and bring it down. Just because those liars bluff that me and Stalin clashed we will not clash. We are seasoned experts in binging to conflict those we want to and hence I will tell those who want to divert attention by reeling out lies now, not as Mylapore Karunanidhi but as Tiruvarur Karunanidhi, one who was trained by Pattukottai Alagirisamy and accepted Alagiri as his lieutenant, they would have forgotten the days when the movement marched ahead on the path of Alagiri. It they say they will root out the party by publishing false reports, I will tell them it they continue like this; we will become experts even better than them. Because we have grown this movement by toil amidst difficulties and worked hard to defend it, ignoring the interests of our ancestors. We have lost our relatives in the task. If some of them try to destroy this movement developed by shedding blood and sweat, I would only say that it is for their sales promotion”.
This movement is dedicated to the interests of a race and if any in the media or rival parties dreamt of suppressing us that dream would never turn true, because it is a heroic movement capable of rooting out poisonous weed, he said.
