Stating Thalapathi M.K.Stalin is the next generation leader capable of defending the reputation of Kalaignar and with his growth the DMK gets protected, DMK General Secretary Perasiryar said only Kalaignar could oppose the injustice of rulers attempting to destroy Tamil language and Dravidian culture.
In his acceptance speech after being elected as General Secretary in the General Council held on Jan 9, Perasiriyar said he was very happy on witnessing the council and hence could not speak as only anger induced speech and not happiness. This General Council is capable of bringing prosperity to the future of Tamil Nadu.
He said the media made so many speculations of changes in the party and youths would bring about drastic changes and thus created a wrong impression. “If I say in a nutshell Kalaignar is not an elected leader but a leader generated on its own”, he said.
Kalaignar was identified leader by Periyar and hailed by Anna and “accepted by Anbazhagan”, he said amidst cheers. Recalling his association with Navalar Nedunchezhiyan while studying in Annamalai University and together going to party meetings and gaining the affection of Anna, Perasiriyar said he realized that the leadership of Navalar would not protect the party and hence accepted the leadership of Kalaignar.
He said Periyar praised Kalaignar’s attachment to principles and Anna said only Kalaignar would study his mind and act accordingly. Hence there was no surprise in the council electing him as President. “There is no way for people like me to tell anybody else other than him for which there are many reasons. One reason; brother Stalin is very young to me. When I speak about him I will only say ‘future leader after us’, because that is protection for me! (laughter) If Stalin grows it is protection for me and party. It is a chance to threaten rival parties that we have a young Stalin to correct any of our defects due to old age. I am very happy to get a youth like Stalin to fulfill all my desires”, he said.
“If I have an aim and desire, it is a desire to defend Tamil language and this movement should function after my life and next generation capable of protecting the reputation of Kalaignar should come. Tamil Nadu is not just a geographical land from Vindhya Range to Kanyakumari but a huge area called Lemuria (‘Kumarikkandam’) in which mankind was first born and the first language and civilization developed. “We belong to a society with tradition, and I will declare with pride that none in India is equal to us, no other race is equal to Tamil race, and nobody else is greater in culture like Dravidians. Aryan culture is a mundane culture. Aryan culture is lead vessel; Tamil culture is silver vessel (claps). Hence the big responsibility of protecting such a vessel is on DMK. Another movement like ours is not born in India”, Perasiryar said.
He said Kalaignar has drafted the resolution a brief of history- history of the Dravidian movement. In those days Brahmins dominated in every occupation. It was because of agitations for social justice that we have come to this pause. The future Tamil Nadu, dreamt by Periyar and Anna could be created only by the DMK.
Stating amidst applause that we should develop the mentality that only Kalaignar should be the Chief Minister, if all of them were determined nobody could destroy this race which implied that the fame of Kalaignar could not be erased by anybody.
We are surrounded by enemies and those who have come to power are trying to establish whatever ideas and views which are inimical to Tamil, undermining Dravidam, degrading South India, reducing our glories and prides. “Though I do not want to elaborate, I would like to refer in brief”, he said and referred to the resolution adopted in the meeting about the actions of those who have come to power in Delhi. “They say all those in India are Hindus. How is it possible? Will Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and many other small religious groups accept it? I am a secularist without any religion, can I become a Hindu? Whom are they duping?
“Similarly they say that those who are not born to Rama are illegitimate children. What a big fraud? Such a nasty word! By speaking like this they are vulgarizing their own Rama. They say ‘Bhagavat Gita’ is national scripture. What is ‘Bhagavat Gita? It is an imaginary text of ‘Bhagavan Krishna’ preaching. If that is taken seriously, what did Krishna say? ‘Only I created four varnas. When I was Maha Vishnu and possessed the power of Brahma, I created four varnas. I only found Varnasra dharma, according to which Sudras should obey the commandments in it. Similarly killing in battle field is not a crime. Taking life is not great offence, just like the cloth worn on body it could be removed at any time”.
The only text that could be treated as national scripture is Tirukkural, if they have wisdom and culture. For the only line ‘Ãw¥bgh¡F« všyh c殡F«’ (All are equal by birth) it can be made national scripture, Perasiriyar said.
Similarly they say Godse, who assassinated Gandhi, is a patriot. Can there be a greater fraud than this? We may differ in the policies of Mahatma Gandhi. But he was great and Godse was a symbol of injustice. They also say the instead of Gandhi Godse should have shot at Nehru. Can there be greater atrocity than this, he asked adding instead of installing statues of Godse as they demand, toilets can be constructed. They also observed ‘Good Governance Day’ on the day of Christmas, to obliterate its significance. They tried to teach Sanskrit in Kendriya Vidyalayas and celebrated ‘Sanskrit week’ in CBSE schools. All people in India have their own mother tongue and Sanskrit is a dead language.
It was Sanskrit which caused our fall, degradation, destruction bringing casteism and untouchability, only their sastras undermined us.
It has been announced that English will be removed and only Hindi will be used in circulars for the students of Delhi University. All these are steps to change India into a Hindu Rashtra, he said.
Perasiriyar said that though we do not demand separation of ‘Dravida Nadu’ from India and argue for the right of separation and gave up the demand on the path shown by Arignar Anna, only if we have a leader like Kalaignar, who could not be shaken by any trouble, that we could oppose all these injustice, atrocities and irregularities resorted to by the present regime at the Centre to eliminate our race, eradicate our culture and remove the idea of unity in diversity. It is not us but for the sake of our posterity, that they should not lose our identity and Tamil language lost use usage, that we need to follow the path of Kalaignar, he said welcoming those who had come winning in party elections and greeting and congratulating those who could not win in the elections. 18 January 2015
